Since our inception in 1982, Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church Kindergarten has been committed to providing quality preschool care and education to young learners.
As a SPARK certified preschool, we ensure quality standards for a conducive learning environment, an engaging curriculum and a professionally dedicated team of educators to instill joy in learning and prepare our children for lifelong learning and future success.
The environment is everything that surrounds us. Being aware of the world around us is important for children because they are naturally curious about the world they live in.
Our educators work with the children every week to learn about the surrounding environment through involvement in hands-on activities, nature exploration, experiments and outdoor field experiences.
They develop important process skills such as observing, asking questions, problem solving, sequencing, comparing, predicting and drawing conclusions.
Young children instinctively love music. They respond to music & movement activities spontaneously at an early age.
Each week, our teachers involve the children in exploring a range of musical elements such as tempo, rhythm, beat and dynamics. The programme also exposes them to different types of songs, percussion play, music and dances, including those that are cultural.
When children participate in music and movement activities, they become expressive, creative and imaginative. As a group, they develop and refine their social skills. They learn teamwork, how to share in a group and be creative in a group environment.
In art, the focus is on the process and positive learning experiences rather than the end result. Experiences in art allows our children to express ideas and feelings which they may not be able to do so in words at times.
Every week, our art specialist engages our children in exploring a range of art elements, such as lines, shapes, colours and textures, through a variety of art tools, art media and art techniques. Through artistic experiences, children develop an appreciation for arts and enhance their enjoyment of art.
The Gymnastics Programme aims to develop the enthusiasm for physical activity and promote all-round physical development in the children.
We emphasise on teaching the Dominant Movement Patterns (jumping and landing skills, rolling, balance, travelling), which are fundamental movement abilities required for work, sport and recreational activities.
Through weekly lessons, our Gym coach engages our children in a series of physical activities, from static to locomotor movements, to enhance children’s physical abilities and their body, effort and space awareness.
The development and use of language is crucial to young children’s learning. Children need to use language not only to express their needs, feelings and thoughts but also to communicate with others in order to participate more fully in their society.
Our teachers extend and enrich young learners’ vocabulary and engage them in meaningful and purposeful conversations.
Through our comprehensive Language & Literacy programme that aims to build Bilingual vocabulary acquisition, listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, the language learning needs of our children are met.
Numeracy helps children to make sense of their daily encounters that involve mathematics at home, in school and in the community.
In helping our children to become numerate, our educators design activities that enable them to make connections between what they already know and can do, and what we want them to learn.
The use of manipulatives, pictures and symbols, help our children to see the relationships between sets of things to be sorted, compared, counted, shared and represented.

The teachers here always go the extra mile to provide continuous feedback and work together with parents to bring kids to speed. They definitely make the learning journey an interesting one for the K2 class. A lot of positive energy, a lot of effort and commitment in making sure kids are taken care of, not just academically in preparation for P1 but also socially and emotionally which is equivalently important.
Personally, I am happy to see my boys growing up in a healthy, safe, and value based environment. My boys love going to school every morning.
We highly recommend Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church Kindergarten. Our son has been so lucky to have such enriching experiences in the Kindergarten. He began in Nursery 1 and is now in Kindergarten 1 programme and every year is getting better than before. This Kindergarten has provided him with self-esteem, social skills, manners, and academics.
Every staff member that we have had the pleasure to work with, has always had the best interests of our son’s short-term and long-term success in mind. We feel like Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church Kindergarten is part of our extended family. We absolutely love it.

The school has provided a wonderful and great learning experience for all my 3 boys. Over the years, my boys learnt to become more confident and adaptable all thanks to the teachers love and patience towards the boys.
The learning programme designed by the school inculcate good values in the boys and helped them to blossom during their preschool years. These values are important as they build the foundation for primary school education ahead.
There is always timely feedback from the teachers on how the boys are doing in school and this certainly help to ease any worries that we as parents may have when raising the boys. The school certainly engage parents proactively to ensure a good partnership is forged to help develop children to their full potential. Could not thank the school enough for raising the boys together with me.
We are so thankful for the nurturing teachers in AMKMC Kindergarten. Every single teacher who has taught our children has been so positive about our children's journey to love learning. We also notice the consistency in approach and common language used across the levels, which we really appreciate.
We enjoyed our conversation with our children about what they learned in school and we were often amazed by the extensive exposure they receive in terms of academic, social and emotional development, but our favourite has to be how the school is so intentional in sensitising them to the need to contribute to the community around them. We are thankful that our two daughters have grown and blossomed at Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church Kindergarten during their pre-school education years. AMK Church Kindergarten has a very positive and nurturing school culture, and always place great emphasis on the safety and well-being of the students. We have seen how they have gone the extra mile during the pandemic.
Another strength of the school is its holistic curriculum, one that focuses not only on academic development, but also on character building, physical and social-emotional development of the children.
Our kids truly enjoyed all the learning journeys where they get to learn beyond the classrooms, our daughters have also grown to be more compassionate and confident. May God continue to shine through the school and use it as a channel of blessing to many more children.
We were introduced to Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church Kindergarten by our family friends. Seeing how their elder girl enjoyed her pre-school, we were keen to enroll our first-born into the same school.
At first, we were a little apprehensive as we were not members of the Church. However, the warm and gracious staff reassured us that was not a pre-requisite and answered all our queries promptly and patiently.
The open house session allowed us to meet the teaching team first hand and the caring and personal touch confirmed to us that our choice was right.
Almost 4 years on and with our younger one enrolled in N1 this year, there hasn’t been any day we did not celebrate our luck in finding this wonderful kindy family that has nurtured our first-born into a sensitive, knowledgeable young lady all ready for her next stage of Primary School life.
The communication is terrific and not just on the school activities, but also on your child’s emotions and feelings. It takes a village to raise a child, and we are glad we found our village in AMKMC Kindy. The greatest testimony though would be our childrens’ love of going to school. Thank you AMKMC Kindy!
